Get SondeFox

Downloads

Android, Mac, and iOS releases move through review separately. Only available releases have an install link.

Already a private tester?

Keep using your existing private update channel. Public Android releases use the Google Play app-signing identity, which differs from the older private tester builds. Do not uninstall a private build or expect an in-place upgrade until a verified migration procedure is provided. See tester information.

Android installation and updates

When available, the APK on this page will be signed by Google Play and distributed from downloads.sondefox.com. Android 10 or later on arm64-v8a or x86_64 is required. USB reception also needs compatible SDR hardware and USB host support; see the hardware guide.

  1. Download and verify

Use the APK link above. Compare its SHA-256 with the published value if you use a checksum tool. An AAB is not an installable download.

  2. Allow this installation

Open the APK and, if prompted, allow this browser or files app to install unknown apps. Restore that permission afterward. Keep Android security protections enabled.

  3. Keep current

Website downloads do not update automatically. Return here for newer approved releases. Google Play may become the primary route after its listing is available; an update needs the same application identity and signing certificate and a higher build number.

Mac installation and updates

The planned direct download supports Apple silicon and macOS 14 or later. When available, open the signed and notarized DMG and copy SondeFox to Applications. Keep Gatekeeper enabled. If macOS reports an unidentified developer, damaged app, or failed verification, stop and report the exact message. Check this page for updates; no automatic updater is promised.

iPhone and iPad installation

Public iOS testing will use an approved Apple TestFlight invitation, followed by the App Store. Install TestFlight from Apple, then use the invitation above when it becomes available. Beta builds expire and tester capacity can be limited. There is no downloadable IPA, device-registration scheme, or website installation profile.

iOS reception uses a network rtl_tcp receiver. Android USB instructions do not apply to iOS. Minimum device and OS requirements will accompany the approved beta.
